April Fulton is a James Beard Award-winning food writer who launched NPR’s food blog, the Salt, in 2012. In addition to her work for NPR, her food writing has also appeared in the Washington Post, National Geographic and Los Angeles Magazine. In Washington, DC, she covered food policy and healthcare in the halls of Congress and at the FDA and the USDA. April is currently a freelance writer and cooking instructor in Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband, two sons, and a hungry orange cat.
